The Back-up car is complete with the exception of installing the engine, and the reassembly of the primary car is going fast and furious. The track announced the pre-season test dates and the 1st one is March 16th. We are planning on just bringing the primary car to the 1st session and then using the 2nd and 3rd dates for the back-up car & fine tuning the primary car. March 14, 2002

The primary car is complete enough for the test session this Saturday. Everyone worked hard & got the car all together and engine in. We ran into a delay on the painting and only part of the car is red, but color won't affect speed!! If all goes well at this Saturdays test session we will then have the paint & lettering finished for the Icebreaker. We are still waiting on the engine for the back-up car & should have it back in time to run the car at the next test session on March 3oth.

March 17, 2002

The first test session is over and all went well. We took the primary car only & focused on just making sure all was functional and tight. We went out in the first round & started out slow just to warm everything up & break in some new brake rotors, but after 3 or 4 laps of taking it easy John decided things didn't feel right out there going around half throttle so he put it to the floor and clicked of some fast laps to get his blood pumping. The car was quick but a little tight in the middle of the turns so he came in & the crew made a few minor adjustments and sent him back out in round 2. The adjustments were immediately noticeable when the green flag came out as John started right off 2 to 3 10ths quicker on the stopwatch. After that round we decided to call it quits for the day and head home knowing we've got what we need to do the job this season.

March 24, 2002

Not much going on this week, we decided to skip this weekends practice for sure and really don't have much to do to the cars other than some minor adjustments and maintenance. We're still waiting on engine #2 for the back-up car, hope to have it in time to go to the test session on the 30th to shake down that car.
