Well, Icebreaker 2002 is over and what started out to be a great weekend for the team wound up being a disheartening 1st half and a decent recovery in the 2nd half. It all started in practice Saturday morning, all was well. We were very fast and were very confident. We went out in qualifying heat #3  started 2nd and won the race. On to the 1st of 2 15 lap feature events. We started 3rd and quickly moved to 2nd behind Woody Pitkat in the #25. After surviving several restarts we made the pass for the lead and didn't look back. We were in the clear and headed for the Icebreaker win and the caution came out which forced a Green/White/Checker restart. We won the restart & pulled into the lead again, then going into turn one Dave Blain in the #51 drove to our inside & went into the turn way over his head and lost his grip & sent us sliding into the turn 2 wall wrecked the win for us along with our car!! The aftermath resulted in several words being exchanged between the two teams and 1 racecar that needed major work to be readied for the next feature. We wound up with 15th spot for that race. The crew headed home Saturday night to get some rest and were back at the track at 7AM on Sunday to begin the repairs. After a solid 5 hours of work we were back together & ready for the 2nd feature of the weekend. Due to the poor finish in the 1st feature we started 15th in the 2nd feature. After being hung up in traffic for several laps John made some key passes & got the car up to the 7th spot and ran out of time and would finish there, a great recovery considering the work that went into preparing the car that morning. A Hats off to the crew & driver for a great effort given the circumstances!!

All is still quiet in our long break before the next race on June 6th. The primary car is headed for BFR Chassis to have some minor structural repairs to damage that was caused by the wreck at the Icebreaker. Other than that the shop remains quiet.
